A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion: A visual meditation from Ronald Sultana

In 2017 Professors Laura Nota and Salvatore Soresi from the University of Padova (Italy) helped put together a Manifesto for Inclusion that represent ideas and proposals by over 600 academics and practitioners from all over the world. The Manifesto was formally launched at a conference on career guidance and counselling held in Padova between 5-7 October 2017, with the title “Decent Work, Equity and Inclusion: Passwords for the Present and the Future”. The Manifesto articulates a different way of being in the world, promoting a set of values alternative to the ones we associate with neo-liberalism, and which promote inclusion and socially just practices at all levels of society. The Manifesto as well as a volume edited by Nota and Soresi with reflections on the Manifesto are available at https://www.unipd.it/counseling-and-support2017/en/manifesto.

This six minute slide feature represents Ronald Sultana’s reflections on the Manifesto, and can be used as a teaching tool when addressing issues of social justice.
