Call for Abstracts for Webinar: Rethinking Career Development Policy: Critical Perspectives for Inclusive Futures
Hosted by Working Group 2 of COST Action CA23112 – Critical Perspectives on Career and
Career Guidance (COCAG)
Working Group 2 (Policy) invites researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and interdisciplinary
teams to submit proposals for contributions to an upcoming Webinar. This webinar will bring
together diverse voices to explore how policy can better address the structural conditions
shaping contemporary careers and career guidance across Europe and beyond.
In line with the Action’s objectives, this webinar aims to create a space for critical dialogue on
how career guidance policies are formed, implemented, and experienced, and how they might
be reshaped to support equitable and socially responsive outcomes.
We welcome proposals that critically examine how career development policies
operate within political, economic, and social systems, and how these policies impact diverse
groups, particularly those most affected by inequality, discrimination, and precarious labour
markets.
Suggested Topics
Submissions may engage with (but are not limited to) the following thematic questions:
- How can policymakers respond to contemporary challenges to individuals’ careers?
- What could new policy ideas and approaches that engage with social justice and
contemporary environmental concerns look like? - How are new technologies being integrated into career guidance policies? And can this
help improve the quality of career guidance?
Format of the Webinar
The Webinar will be held on MS Teams where selected presenters will deliver 15-
minute presentations followed by a moderated discussion.
