In March, NICEC organised a seminar focused on the problems caused by climate change and continued environmental damage. The seminar was organised by Anthony Barnes as a valedictory seminar for Lyn Barham.
The seminar addressed the exciting new thinking and practice that has started to impact on approaches to career guidance in response to environmental issues. This seminar was an opportunity to share views about the career guidance sector’s future role in supporting sustainable living and working, the ethical questions this poses and how our understanding of careers may need to change.
The seminar featured contributions from
- Rita Buhl and Miriam Dimsits, former associate professors of VIA University College in Denmark
- J Clarke from People & Planet
- Tristram Hooley from NICEC, with ample time for discussion between participants.
