Nina Ahlroos from Euroguidance in Sweden shares some resources for practitioners working with refugees and migrants.

In light of the current crisis in Ukraine where many people have had to leave their country, the Euroguidance network would like to point out a few articles, resources and tools that might be of help to the guidance community in supporting the newly arrived. Under the heading High-stakes counselling: uncertainty, complexity and ethical dilemmas for career counsellors working with asylum-seeking youth, you will find a list of resources that will be continuously updated.
Further information and other useful resources can also found in resources for psychological first aid, psychological care and support for people suffering from serious crisis events and trauma caused by war.
In April or early May, the Euroguidance network will offer a webinar on Career Guidance and Migration – it will be announced on www.euroguidance.eu.

In the UK, the CDI is offering a webinar on working with refugees on 5th May [https://www.thecdi.net/Skills-training-events ]. Also in the UK, the National Youth Agency has assembled relevant and useful resources [https://www.nya.org.uk/ukraine-crisis/ ]

Thanks Nina, for sharing these useful resources. My colleagues and I were doing some work on careers materials for a local refugee organisation last summer and we weren’t able to find much on this topic. I will share with my network!
